RULES AND REGULATIONS

Sky Explorers has a fair number of things in place to propagate a friendly and productive environment for its members. Please read through this page thoroughly to ensure a good experience for everyone, including yourself!

GENERAL RULES

1. Be respectful to all members.

Show some common courtesy to each other, and if you disagree with someone's opinion don't resort to name-calling or rude behavior. Handle situations as maturely and reasonably as possible, and avoid causing unnecessary conflict. If there is an issue, you can contact the group and we will do our best to resolve the issue.

2. Do not incite drama or flame people's work.

We kindly ask that you do not purposefully cause problems or start drama. We have 0 tolerance for people spreading toxicity within the group as we try to maintain a positive vibe for all. Reported offenders, if found guilty, can face a warning or ban depending on the severity of their actions.

3. Joining the group Discord is mandatory.

Our discord hosts 90% of our group activities; including battles, crafting, trading, shopping, and managing your inventory! You just wouldn't be able to participate in the group if you're not registered in our server. Discord can be either downloaded on your PC, phone, or you can avoid downloads altogether and access it from a browser! You can go to our server by clicking the Discord icon at the bottom of the page, or by clicking here!

4. You cannot join Sky Explorers if you are under 13 years old.

Sky Explorers is rated PG-13, and is not suitable for a 12 year old and under audience. This is not only a rule of the group itself, but a rule of the platform that hosts it: DeviantART. If you are found to be under 13 years old, you will be removed from the group and will not be allowed to re-join until after your 13th birthday has passed.  You may re-join outside an opening at any time. Members who willingly lie about their age will be banned from the group when discovered.

5. We reserve the right to remove/ban people from the group.

While we will provide reasons for our actions and are willing to listen to explanations, please remember that Sky Explorers reserves the right to remove/ban anyone who breaks the rules of the group permanently without notice or compensation. We provide a maximum of 3 warnings for rule breaking, however a ban may be issued sooner or without any warnings if it is seen as a necessary course of action. This is a rare occurrence however and is reserved for only the worst offenders.

6. Keep discussions about mature topics to a minimum.

Sky Explorers welcomes members from a wide range of age groups, therefore please keep comments and discussions about such topics to a minimum. Graphic or violent images should not be posted without the appropriate filter on DeviantArt, and not posted to the Discord chat at all. If the topic being discussed makes a member feel uncomfortable and they ask you to stop, don't continue the discussion and change topics. If you feel the need to continue, please do so privately.

7. We only accept original works.

All art and literary pieces submitted to the group MUST be 100% your own (excluding collaborations, of course). No bases or traced art.

8. Submit your works to the correct folder.

It saves us a lot of time and trouble, plus your submission will be rejected if it is not submitted to the correct folder. If you're unsure which folder you should submit your piece to, feel free to ask us and we'll point you in the right direction.

9. Do not contact moderators on their personal pages about group-related topics.

If you've got any questions or concerns, please note the group directly or ask on Discord as this increases the likelihood of them being noticed sooner.

10. Inform the group if you change your username so that we can update the inventory accordingly.

If you do not notify us of a username change, it makes it difficult to keep track of things and there is the possibility of your progress becoming lost.

11. Read the FAQ before asking questions.

Our FAQ is constantly being updated with new questions, so there is a chance that what you're asking could have already been answered.

12. No god-modding/power-playing/meta gaming.

It ruins the fun for everyone during role-play, is unfair to others, and can sometimes be downright offensive. You are only allowed to control the actions that your character does, and not anyone else's, and your character should only know information they are given by another character consensually. If you don't know what god-modding is, here is a definition with examples provided. If you don't know what power-playing is, here is a definition with examples provided. If you don't know what metagaming is, here is a definition with examples provided.

13. Keep personal problems to private chats or the rant channel.

Self-explanatory. We understand that life can be hard sometimes, but we try to keep a light atmosphere in the chats. There is, however, a rant channel specifically created for members to vent their frustrations and talk about their problems - we encourage you to use it if necessary.

14. Don't reveal any personal information.

As a basic safety precaution, please be careful with what you reveal about your personal life. This includes things like home addresses, full names, etc. Only share what you're fully okay with everyone knowing.
